ART TO THE FUTURE
ART CAMP 2012
Hop in the Delorean and travel back in time to experience art styles through the ages! Learn about ancient cultures in Kickin’ It Old School, check out Medieval and Renaissance art in Teenage Mutant Ninja Artists, and explore the work of Impressionists and Expressionists in Show Me the Monet. Each camp will cover a wide variety of different art media including clay, pencils, acrylic, watercolor, collage, ink, recyclables and more. Registration begins March 15th.

All summer art camps are $90 (or $115 if you live outside Cobb County), except Mini Workshops (which are $10).  Please note that we are only able to accept Visa, MasterCard, exact cash, or check.

You are welcome to sign your child up for multiple sessions, just keep in mind that the curriculum is the same for ALL the weeks with a particular theme.  So, if you sign your child up for two weeks of Show Me the Monet, they will be repeating the same projects.

Also, a Hold Harmless Agreement must be filled out for each camper in each camp before the start of class.

KICKIN' IT OLD SCHOOL
Go way, way old school and check out the art of ancient cultures. We’ll explore prehistoric art, ancient Egypt and Greece, and the First Nations of North and South America.

Did you know that our favorite heroes in a half-shell were all named after famous Renaissance painters? Learn about a wide variety of artists and techniques from the Medieval and Renaissance periods… no stunt doubles necessary!

SHOW ME THE MONET
The late 1800s and early 1900s had a lot of very different art movements. Come play with the styles and artists of Impressionism, Expressionism, and Fauvism.

CLAY HANDBUILDING
Learn to make fabulous pieces of pottery without the use of the wheel!  Coil, pinch and slab techniques will be covered in this fun-filled week of clay-slinging for elementary students.

HYDE & SEEK
ARTventure CAMP
Join PRCA and the Outdoor Unit for a fun-filled week at Hyde Farm that combines the joys of nature and art. Go hiking, learn about plants and animals, create handmade nature journals, and so much more. (The Hyde Farm Visitor's Center is located at 721 Hyde Road, Marietta, GA 30068.)

DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA
Campers will learn theater terms, take stage direction, learn lines and create props to put on a show for family and friends in this laid-back introduction to acting.  Both plays will have plenty of parts for boys and girls of all ages!

PRINT IT UP!
Students in rising 6th - 8th grades will learn a variety of printmaking techniques to create their own plates and images.

MANGA COMIC DRAWING
Rising 6th - 8th grade students learn to create Japanese comics in the manga style. Both educational and entertaining!

WILD ON THE WHEEL
Rising 6th graders through rising 8th graders will enjoy this wheel-throwing class whether they are beginners or a long-time potter. Students will have access to the Art Station's pottery tool kits.
